Thorn SoCal S/S

This is one magical guitar. I was originally going to demo it to help the builder sell it. Those plans changed the minute I plugged it in. A Strat with mids, a better bridge, a non-sticky nitro finished neck and a fat neck profile that fits perfectly in my hand. Also, build quality of the highest order.

You will be seeing more of this guitar on this blog and on my YouTube channel.

Gretsch G5135-CVT Demo

Here's another first for us lefties. I believe this is Gretsch's answer to a Gibson SG. It sure feels and sounds that way. I do like the Filtertron pickups. This was my first time using those. I get why people like them. They are like humbuckers with a hint of single coil sparkle. I especially liked the clarity and note separation when playing chords with distortion. Incredible guitar for the price, if you ask me!

Jerry commissioned two colors: the classic transparent red and solid white. I am glad he sent me the white one. I would have kept the red one! This guitar is perfect for slide. Hmm, maybe that should be my next demo!

Since the guitar is white, I decided to go for contrast and do a black and white video. Enjoy!

Eastwood Surfcaster Demo

I am back at demoing guitars for Jerry's Lefty Guitars. Jerry is personally responsible for commissioning guitars never before available for left handed guitarists. This is one of such guitars. Great Surf and Rockabilly sounds. Interesting guitar shape! And I can now say I have played lipstick pickups.

This is also the debut of my new GoPro camera. I have been meaning to buy one of these for a while now. I am loving the headstock angle. And Jerry loves it too!

PRS Custom 22 Demo

My first quality guitar. I have played many gigs with it, countless rehearsals and I have recorded stuff with it as well. As durable as the V12 finish is, the wear is starting to show. I never reviewed it, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with PRS guitars. I love the products, I hate that there are only two models available currently for us lefties, and only as limited runs. That is not uncommon practice in the guitar world, but Paul Reed Smith's take on lefties as a market has been less than politically correct.

Anyway, the guitar is awesome. My playing could be better. First time I recorded myself standing up. It kinda threw me off!
